We’ve sent out the notifications for everyone from HU who applied within the regular application period for winter semester 2018/19. The subsidies will be transfered within the next 1-2 weeks, and if you asked to receive your subsidy in cash you will be able to pick it up during our office hours starting tomorrow (23.1.)

Late applications (from newly matriculated students etc.) will be processed now and you will receive your notifications and subsidies as soon as we’re done with your application, probably within a month.

We’re still working on the applications from students of KHB and will try to finish them and get the notifications out as soon as possible.

Please remember that the application period for summer semester 2019 has started and you can apply until February 28th (with a further grace period of 14 days, i.e. until March 14th).

We are sorry to inform you, that the decision letters regarding subsidiaries from the social funds are going to be delayed this year. This happened due to the personnel policy of HU during the last year and and a currently high sick leave in our team. We hope to send out the letters next week Thursday, 17th Jan 2019.

Information about the pay out of the subsidiaries will follow.

The application period for summer semester 2019 starts at 01/01/2019, please hand in your application forms until 02/28/2019.

During the first week of January our office will be closed (due to academic vacations). We’re looking forward to welcome you back for counseling hours at 01/07/2019!

Unfortunately the notifications about your subsidies for winter semester 2018/19 will be delayed. Due to the university administration’s new policies regarding student employees we’ve had to deal with staff shortages and a large amount of additional efforts trying to resolve them, so as a result we were unable to make our usual December deadline. We are now planning on sending the notifications in mid-January 2019 and will try our best to transfer the subsidies before the end of the re-registration period (Rückmeldefrist), despite all these unnecessary hurdles. If that inconveniences you in any way, we are very sorry – please feel free to complain to the university administration.

Due to the general assembly of students our office will be closed for the first two opening hours on Wednesday, October 31st. We encourage everyone to attend the assembly, which will be held at 12am in room 2002, Unter den Linden 6. The topic is the recent behaviour of the university president and administration towards the student council/administration and student workers.

Due to a staffing shortage the office will also close an hour early.

I.e. our opening hours on Wednesday, October 31st, will be 2pm – 6pm!

Due to an increased number sick staff we unfortunately have to shorten our office hours on Wednesday August 22nd 2018 from 12 a.m.-3 p.m.!

The application period (including a two week grace period) ended on August 14th, 2018.

From now on we only accept applications in case of the following exceptions:

• If you are newly enrolled in WiSe 18/19 (e.g. students in the first semester at Humboldt or first semester Master) please apply within six weeks after your enrolment. If that is the case, please mark “I was newly matriculated…” on the application form.
• If you could not apply in the application period for reasons that you are not responsible for (e.g. due to illness etc.). Please add a short explanation of the situation to your application and if possible provide proof (e.g. doctor’s statement).

If you are unsure if one of the above applies to you or if/how you can prove either please do contact us personally or per telephone during our opening hours.

Late applications without any information about the reasons for the delay will be sent back.

We have finally submitted the list of subsidies for summer semester 2018 to Kunsthochschule Weißensee for transfer, so they should be in your accounts at some point next week or the week after that – the exact date of the transfer now depends on the KHB administration.

Applications by Humboldt University students that were sent in after the regular summer semester 2018 deadline (e.g. by those newly matriculated) are still being processed and we will send out decisions as they’re being made. Unfortunately things are going a little slow due to many of us being sick, so please be patient just a little longer.

Please remember that the deadline to submit your applications for winter semester 2018/19 ends on August 14. After that we will only accept applications by those newly matriculated or if there was an important reason why you couldn’t apply on time.

We finally sent out the notifications for the summer semester 2018 subsidies for Kunsthochschule Weißensee today, so please check your mail in the coming days. If everything goes according to plan, we will submit the subsidies for transfer next week, so the money should be in your accounts around the end of next week or the beginning of the week after that.
