End of the application period

The application period (including a two week grace period) ended on March 14th, 2015.
Now we only accept applications only in case of the following exceptions:

*If you are newly enrolled in SoSe 15 (e.g. students in the first semester at Humbolt or first semester Master) please apply within six weeks after your enrolment.

*In case of reasons that you are not responsible for (e.g. due to illness etc.). Sometimes it is necessary to enclose a proof with your application (e.g. doctor’s statement).

If you are unsure if one of the above applies to you or if/how you can prove either please do contact us personally or per telephone during our opening hours.
Late applications without any information about the reasons for the delay will be sent back.

When will i get my money?

At the moment, we are finishing our application process. On the 11th or 12th of December, we will send you a letter regarding your subsidy. Depending on the postal service, these letters should reach you during the week from 15th to 20th of December.

If you have selected to have your subsidy booked to your bank account, please review the bank account information on the letter. Wrong IBANs or BICs cause delays for everyone! If you wish to change the bank account information, please contact us before December 20th!

Picking up the subsidy in cash (if that’s what you specified on your application) will be possible from approximately the 5th of January 2015 onwards.

Students who have freshly enrolled this semester or whose application was late for other reasons may have to wait until late January to receive a letter as we are still working on their applications.

Students at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee will receive their letters in mid-january.

Ballot about the Ticket

Since March 2014 your elected student representatives are negotiating with the public transport companies of Berlin and Brandenburg (Verkehrsbetriebe Berlin Brandenburg—VBB) about the new agreement regarding the ticket from summer semester 2015 onwards. You will have the final say about in a ballot. Read more in German.

Delays in subsidy payout

Unfortunately still relevant (15.07.):

As you may have noticed, the payout of the subsidies for summer semester 2014 has unfortunately been delayed. We planned on transferring them in time for you to pay the new semester fees, however due to the switch to SEPA there have been some unexpected problems in the payment process. We can’t say for sure yet when those problems will be resolved, so please be patient for a little longer – we promise to do our best to get your subsidies to you asap.

In the case you are having trouble to pay the re-registration fee in time, you can contact the immatriculation office for getting a delay for the deadline extension (by doing so you can avoid paying the extra delinquency fees).

In the meantime, please remember that you can apply for the subsidy for winter semester 2014 until July 31st!

Cash-Payments/Bank-Transfers

If you chose to receive your subsidy for summer semester 2014 in cash, you can now pick up the payment authorisation during our office hours! Please remember to bring your notification letter and a picture ID, and note the opening hours of the Kasse if you want to receive your money immediately. (We hand out the authorisation, the Kasse hands out the money.)

If you chose to have your subsidy transfered to your bank account: The transferral of the subsidies was started in the university’s administration on June 26th and will take about 1-2 weeks. So the money will arrive on the bank accounts probably by calendar week 28.
