General information

We are students who deal with queer topics and problems of trans, inter and non-binary people. We are committed to fighting discrimination at the university and support students with their problems. Our consulting focus is on trans topics. Nevertheless, we are open to all people who could benefit from our consulting, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

As peer counseling we are there for you and offer an open ear. There can be difficult situations in life, but that is exactly when a conversation can sometimes produce new solutions or bring relief. We ourselves are homosexual and trans and know the queer life in Berlin and also offers help in the city. If topics exceed our expertise, we are happy to help by offering professional counseling and support for those seeking help. Of course, any contact is subject to confidentiality and we try to create a safe framework for the consultation.

As anti-discrimination counseling, we try to help you with the structural hurdles and experiences at the university. Whether you have concrete experiences of discrimination, change of name, attendance lists or the toilet situation, write to us if you need help.
We also try to bring about a general change at the university and are also responsive in this respect.

Internal name change

Starting with the summer semester 2022, Humboldt University has finally introduced the long overdue and repeatedly promised option of changing the first name for trans students. This could be fought for by different actors through years of political effort. Since the political will of the university administration to allow trans students a more comfortable life at the university has been relatively small, the names are only changed in the internal system of the HU. This includes Agnes and thus seminars, Moodle, Zoom and the like. Furthermore, trans persons will have to enroll with their deadname and get certificates issued with it. We strongly criticize this and it is still an unacceptable situation. The scope for a comprehensive solution would definitely be given. The TU and other universities have shown that. From the summer semester of 2023, the student ID, including the BVG ticket and matriculation certificates, will also be issued in the students own name. We have fought for this for a long time and welcome it very much.
For the change you need (unnecessarily) a dgti supplementary ID. You can apply for it here and it costs 20€. It will take a few weeks, so you better take care of it now.
For the name change there is an online form of the HU where you can apply for the name change, you can find it here
